The Cambodia-Canada Legislative Support Project: Upcoming Activities
Some of the upcoming CCLSP project activities for Year 3 include:
- Orientation Program for Newly Elected Members of the National
Assembly
- Study tour to the Philippines and Thailand for legal and research
staff from the Senate and National Assembly Secretariats
- Series of assignments for National Assembly and Senate legal and
research staff on legislative review and analysis with ongoing mentoring
from a Cambodian
law expert. This includes upcoming work on the anti-corruption legislation
and continuing seminars on domestic violence legislation.
- Assisting in the development a women's caucus in the Cambodian
parliament and creating gender networks. The development of such structures
will hopefully
help strengthen the voice of women parliamentarians and support women's
issues in parliament.
- Working sessions and ongoing mentoring with Senior Managers to
help develop human resources policies and guidelines for National Assembly
and Senate Secretariats
